August 2015

Linking Handlebars was turning all wheels, continuing to collect and refurbish bicycles throughout the summer. After working hand-in-hand with Bikes4Kids and Miller's Toystore, the organization gifted over 150 bicycles on May 30th to participants of HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle.

Additionally, on July 31st, Linking Handlebars distributed bicycles and helmets to the 26 children who participate in Ward Summer Learning Institute's annual Walk-A-Thon.

Linking Handlebars was recently honored with the Volunteer New York Youth Group in Action award. The group is greatful for the recognition and looks forward to maintaining its service to childen in need.

Linking Handlebars has successfully donated over 500 bicycles to underprivledged children in the local community.
In the upcoming months, we plan to reach out to more children in White Plains, Port Chester, and New Rochelle, but we NEED your help!
  • $20 can provide one helmet
  • $30 can repair one bicycle
  • $75 can purchase a new child’s bicycle
  • $100 can purchase a new teen bicycle
A donation of a gently used bicycle is also welcome.
Donations can be mailed to PO Box 75, Rye, NY 10580 or by going to Make a Donation.
Linking Handlebars is a not-for profit organization committed to promoting healthier lifestyles for children in need through the gift of a bicycle. We collect gently used bicycles and cash donations to purchase new bicycles and helmets and to refurbish used bicycles. We provide children the opportunity to experience all the benefits of cycling including exercise, transportation, and enjoyment of the great outdoors.
